Neelu Toor, RCC
Registered Clinical Counsellor, Play Therapist
If you’re looking for a counsellor who will connect with your child or teen in a warm, genuine, and playful way, Neelu may be the right fit. She has a natural ability to help young people feel comfortable, understood, and valued.
With a master’s degree in counselling from Gonzaga University and experience supporting children, teens, and families, Neelu creates a safe, engaging space where kids can express themselves freely and learn tools to manage big emotions. Parents appreciate her calm, compassionate presence and her collaborative approach to supporting the whole family. She provides counselling for children, teens, and adults in Kelowna and online across British Columbia, supporting clients as they navigate emotions, relationships, and life’s transitions.
Approach to Counselling
Neelu believes that empathy, kindness, and curiosity are the foundation of meaningful change. Her counselling style is warm, genuine, and collaborative- rooted in the belief that everyone has the ability to heal, grow, and reconnect with their sense of purpose.
When working with children and teens, Neelu brings playfulness, patience, and creativity to help young people express themselves, understand their emotions, and build confidence. She also works closely with parents and families, helping them strengthen communication and support their child’s emotional well-being at home.
Her approach is flexible and culturally responsive, drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Reality Therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS). Neelu adapts each session to fit her client’s needs- whether it’s helping a child manage anxiety, guiding a teen through identity and school stress, or supporting an adult to find balance and clarity in their life.
