Hear the Child Reports

At Lakeside Clinical Counselling, Jessica Alderliesten, MSW, RSW, provides Hear the Child Reports to ensure children’s voices are heard during separation and divorce in a safe, supportive, and developmentally appropriate way.

Jessica is an approved interviewer with the Hear the Child Society of BC and a Registered Social Worker with a master’s degree in clinical social work from UBC Okanagan. She has extensive experience supporting children and families through separation, co-parenting, and high-conflict transitions

In her Hear the Child interviews, Jessica creates a warm, child-focused environment that allows children and youth to share their perspectives without feeling pressured or responsible for decisions. Her process includes a brief intake with both parents, a one-on-one interview with each child, a follow-up interview with each child, and a clear, non-evaluative report written in the child’s own words.

With advanced training in conflict resolution, parenting coordination, and child interviewing through the Family Justice Institute of BC and the AFCC, Jessica brings both professional expertise and lived experience to this work. Her goal is to help families and professionals gain insight into each child’s needs, promoting clarity, empathy, and the best interests of the child.
