Registered Clinical Counsellor, EMDR Therapist

If you’re carrying the weight of painful memories, struggling with addiction, or feeling stuck in patterns you can’t seem to break, Krista offers a compassionate, non-judgmental space to begin healing. She provides counselling in Kelowna and online across British Columbia, supporting adults and couples navigating trauma, PTSD, addiction recovery, anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges.

Krista is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. She has specialized training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) - an evidence-based approach that helps the brain process and release distressing memories. EMDR allows clients to move forward with greater calm, clarity, and self-understanding, helping to transform old pain into strength and resilience.

Her approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and client-centered, focused on helping you feel safe, seen, and supported as you explore the deeper roots of your struggles. Krista integrates Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) to meet clients where they are and support healing on both emotional and practical levels.

Krista is especially passionate about working with people who have experienced trauma, relationship distress, or addiction and want to reclaim their sense of self. She believes that therapy is not just about processing the past, but about developing new ways of living- where balance, connection, and self-compassion can grow.

Areas of Focus

1. Trauma & PTSD
Unresolved trauma can leave you feeling stuck, anxious, or easily triggered- even when you want to move forward. Krista uses EMDR and trauma-informed therapy to help clients safely process painful memories, reduce emotional reactivity, and reclaim a sense of safety and control. Her approach helps clients find stability, self-compassion, and confidence in their ability to heal.

2. Addiction & Recovery
Addiction often develops as a way to cope with emotional pain or disconnection. Krista provides a non-judgmental, supportive space to explore what’s beneath the substance use or habit, while building healthier coping strategies and restoring balance. She helps clients navigate recovery with empathy and practical tools that strengthen resilience and self-worth.

3. Anxiety & Depression
Feelings of worry, restlessness, or emotional heaviness can make it hard to enjoy life or connect with others. Krista works with clients to understand the patterns behind these emotions, calm the nervous system, and develop strategies to feel more grounded, motivated, and at ease in daily life.

4. Relationships & Connection
When relationships feel strained, misunderstood, or emotionally distant, therapy can help rebuild trust and communication. Drawing from Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) and DBT, Krista helps individuals and couples explore attachment patterns, manage conflict, and create stronger, more compassionate relationships.

5. Identity, Growth & Life Transitions
Many clients come to therapy during times of change- starting over after loss, rebuilding after addiction, or rediscovering who they are. Krista helps clients explore their identity, values, and purpose, supporting growth and clarity through life’s transitions. Her focus is on helping you reconnect with your inner strength and move toward a life that feels authentic and fulfilling.

What to Expect

Clients describe Krista as grounded, kind, and easy to open up to. Her therapy is process based so you will have a clear treatment plan and feeling that you are engaging in more than just talk therapy. Her goal is to help you move from survival to strength- one step, one session, one new insight at a time.
