Therapist, Registered Clinical Counsellor

Growing up and figuring out who you are can feel messy, confusing, and overwhelming at times. Janaya offers a warm, down-to-earth space for teens and young adults who are navigating ADHD, anxiety, identity exploration, and neurodivergence. She provides counselling online across British Columbia, helping young people better understand themselves, build confidence, and find their voice.

Janaya’s counselling approach is collaborative, compassionate, and client-centered. She focuses on creating a safe and non-judgmental environment where teens and young adults can talk openly about what’s really going on- whether it’s school pressure, relationships, focus and motivation, or a sense of not fitting in.

Drawing from Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS), Janaya tailors each session to her client’s unique strengths, goals, and pace. Her approach helps clients make sense of their emotions, build coping skills, and develop a stronger sense of self.

Before entering private practice, Janaya worked in acute in-patient psychiatry and community mental health programs supporting youth and families. These experiences deepened her understanding of how connection, safety, and empathy are essential for real change.

Clients describe Janaya as calm, genuine, and easy to talk to. She believes therapy is not about “fixing” who you are- it’s about helping you understand yourself better, uncover your strengths, and build the confidence to move forward in your own way.
