If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected- from yourself or others- Alex Lundgard offers a calm, understanding space to explore what’s going on beneath the surface. She provides counselling in Kelowna and online across British Columbia for adults and couples navigating anxiety, trauma, neurodivergence, relationship stress, and life transitions.
Alex is a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association, holding a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Victoria. With more than a decade of experience in mental health and social services, she has supported individuals and families through crisis, trauma, addictions, domestic and sexual violence, and major life changes. Her own lived experience with mental health deepens her empathy and ability to meet clients where they are- with honesty, warmth, and respect.
Approach to Counselling
Alex’s approach is empathic, non-judgmental, and deeply compassionate. She creates a safe space where clients feel seen, heard, and supported as they navigate personal challenges or relationship difficulties.
Drawing from a variety of evidence-based approaches, Alex integrates Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to meet each client’s unique needs.
She works with adults and couples, and is an allied and affirming 2SLGBTQ+ counsellor with specialized training in gender and sexuality.

 Providing trauma-informed care that helps clients heal safely, strengthen emotional regulation, and rebuild trust in themselves and others.

 Supporting monogamous, non-monogamous, open, polyamorous, and non-traditional relationship dynamics through communication, empathy, and emotional connection.
- 2SLGBTQ+ Identity, Sex & Sexuality 
 Creating an affirming and inclusive space for exploring identity, gender, and sexual wellness with openness and respect.
What to Expect
With her lived experience and specialized training, Alex offers clients a space to feel seen and supported while working collaboratively to uncover their own capacity for healing and resilience.
Outside of Work
Outside of her counselling work, Alex loves exploring BC’s mountains, camping, and expressing herself through art. She finds balance and inspiration in nature and creativity - values she brings into her work with clients.
